The hugely successful, first ever Africa Pharmaceutical Summit (APS) 2013 was held September 23-24 in Hammamet, Tunisia.
Featuring more than 50 speakers and overall attendance of over 125 delegates from 29 countries, APS 2013 brought together various key stakeholders from all across the globe to explore partnership ideas, business trends and investment opportunities in Africa’s pharma sector.
Stakeholders discussed numerous issues, such as designing government pharmaceutical policy, drug pricing, sustainable investment mechanisms, quality control, regional regulatory harmonisation, and Africa-based research and development.

The African Development Bank Group and Africa Health express appreciation for all the support for the inaugural APS. Building on the partnership, the next APS has been planned to be held in 2014.
Over the coming months, you will be provided with details about the event and a date and venue will be confirmed in due course.
APS 2014 will again place emphasis on building public-private dialogue with presentations and interactive sessions that will focus on how we can achieve key milestones for increased public-private cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector.
